Music Magazine BOUNCE Front Cover, Contents and DPS

I still have not completed my magazine as there are some slight details I would like to add as a way of making my magazine better. However there is a great development in my magazine. As you can see, I have created the draft version of the front cover, DPS and contents page. In the front cover, I have included cover lines, the masthead, sky line, price publishing date/month, bar code and various other editorial features. I have also used the colour scheme of pink, white and black as monochrome colours along with a bright colour is common in many magazines. I have positioned the cover star in the centre of the front cover, where her face is visible and can be identified. I have used photoshop tools as a way of removing blemishes and imperfections on the cover star's face, making the magazine more professional and making the cover star appealing. I have used various effects on the cover lines as a way of making them stand out, catching the reader's attention. As for the contents page, I have made slight improvements, by which I have included more content and pages, all on different topics and subjects. I have also got rid of the social media logos as I thought this would help my magazine to be different and unique in comparison to all the other magazines. I have included a website and page number at the bottom of the page and I have included details on the FREE CD, so the customer is able to know what they are about to purchase.  As for the DPS, I followed the layout of my draft plans and have placed certain features accordingly. I have placed pull quotes and have created columns as a way of making the page organised and allowing the reader to read with ease, without having to look around the page for the continued piece of text. I have included a red drop cap and a special masthead (inspired by the parental advisory logo) as a way of showing that the content produced by the artist is more for adults or young adults and that she is "dangerous". This is also shown in the photography by which she is dressed in a cool, rebellious look, with a nice in her mouth and sliding against her mouth. I have also made a special interview logo, something that is special for my magazine. I have also started to place the interview and include the questions and responses. I have included the magazine name and page number at the bottom of the page.

  1. This is just AMAZING, i love it! It is evident that you've spent time and put in 100% effort. I literally can't see anything negative about it.

  2. I would buy the magazine. For consistency, the page number layout should be the same as the page number layout is different for the DPS and contents page.

  3. Firstly your cover page is very professional. It clearly shows that you have put a lot of time and effort in the work you gave done so far. You have used many skills on photoshop to create this cover page like creating a unique outline on the masthead, shadows on the text and editing the photo. The layout is very slick, sharp and eye catching. I like the colours because they all stand out from each other in the own way. The arrangement of the text is well thought out as you have made the most important text a bigger font and the least important text in the smaller font. All in all a very sharp and skillful way to start your magazine.
The contents page contrasts completely with the cover page as in the colours. The images you have used are exceptional and go well with the overall layout of the contents page. I like the font of your main context as it is different to most magazines However for me I feel the contents page is a bit too dark and I would personally prefer a brighter contents page. Maybe change the background to a more neutral brighter colour.
The DPS that you have created so far is excellent. The text isn't overpowering and the layout is clear and distinct. The pull quotes give it and edge and I like the way you have made it 3-D like again making your magazine unique.I also like that you have used two different images for your DPS because it makes you concentrate on the cover star more. The colours again go very well together with the different text.
Overall a very profession and excellent start to creating your magazine.

  4. Your magazine is really good it look really professional especially your photography. I really like your editing skills you have used on the images and the magazine as a whole. You have made the magazine really lively and attractive you have used lots of colours and also the layout is neat, your DPS is really good i enjoyed reading it it would be suitable for teenagers, the only problem with your magazine is that your front cover has a lot of pink colour which makes it look feminine which I think is a really big let down because a lot of males would not pick it up because of the pink but I enjoyed reading it and looking at your magazine. Also the images of the stars on your cover page look really bare maybe change the colour of the page numbers to make it look better
